debut as the new

COLD
Module for ViewONE Pro launched
Following
the highly successful launch of ViewONE Pro and the new
PDF and DjVu modules, a new COLD module has been added
to the suite.
ViewONE
Pro COLD Module allows COLD system users to be able to
view their two-part electronic forms as a single image
within ViewONE Pro.
Whereas
previously there’s been no single cross
compatible viewer for all COLD systems (because COLD specs
and formats tend to be unique to each system), ViewONE
Pro’s
COLD module now means that organisations can consolidate
on ViewONE Pro for all their COLD archives, allowing users
to examine COLD documents as quickly and easily as any
other scan format such as PDFs, TIFFs, JPEGs and bitmaps.
And
thanks to ViewONE Pro’s annotations and redactions
capability, COLD system users can now use the same annotations
types that have always been available for other file formats
supported by ViewONE Pro, enabling fast collaboration on
shared files.

JPEG2000
now supported as standard within ViewONE Pro
There's
been a lot of talk about the JPEG2000 format, and anticipation
of it as the replacement standard for JPEG compression
is now building rapidly.
Scanner
manufacturers are still packing even greater resolution
and speed on their color-enabled machines, and users'
understanding (and expectation) of megapixel clarity
and the benefits of high resolution color is improving
daily thanks to consumer equipment such as digital
cameras and even camera phones,
The
need for a new standard for high-resolution lossless
compression is certainly not new. LizardTech's DjVu
format is gathering momentum, and it now seems as though
JPEG2000 is finally maturing and making an impact on
the imaging market.
In
recognition of the huge potential for JPEG2000, and
in response to a number of requests from customers
and resellers, ViewONE Pro will not be offering support
for the JPEG2000 format as standard.
Of
course, in addition to the viewing capabilities, if
users are licensed for the annotations module, they'll
also be able to put markups, highlights, redactions
and the rest of the wide range of annotations onto
JPEG2000 files.

The
past twelve months have seen a large increase in
the number of features that have been included
as standard within ViewONE and ViewONE Pro (including
our JPEG2000 - see above).
Our
maintenance programmes ensure that customers
can take advantage of these
feature updates within a version. For just 20%
of the license price per year (or 15% for the first
year if purchased at the same time as the license),
customers can keep their ViewONE and ViewONE Pro
installations up to date, whilst also benefiting
from phone and email support services.
