Welcome to the March edition of Daeja's customer newsletter. In this edition we are pleased to announce the release of our QuickStart facility to dramatically improve the start-up time of ViewONE Pro and ViewONE Standard Edition.

So what exactly is QuickStart?

QuickStart ensures that the viewer is open and ready to use at an exceptionally quick speed. When using any applet viewer, the majority of the first few seconds that it takes for the user to view the image is the launching of the browser followed by the Java engine, both of which are normally out of the control of a Java applet. Thanks to QuickStart, we are able to control these actions and reduce this time delay significantly.

Enabled by a simple tick option within the menus of both ViewONE Pro and ViewONE, QuickStart is instantly added to the PC's start up procedure. Depending upon where the viewer has been embedded, either then next time the ECM system is started, or when the user next logs off and back onto their machine, or when the PC is restarted, QuickStart readies the Java engine and the browser through an innovative technique designed by Daeja’s development team. The only difference the user will see is a small icon that will be placed in the system tray to show that QuickStart is running. When the user next clicks to view an image document, the only delay is the launch of the applet itself.

So what are the benefits of QuickStart?

		ViewONE Pro and ViewONE become available to the user almost immediately whenever required - no long application startup delays
		Reduced wait time on image viewing increases user efficiency
		Such speed improvements are user-enabled by a simple menu option within the viewer, and disabled either by the same method of by right-clicking the menu option from the system tray icon
		Making QuickStart available to users is exactly the same as with any other ViewONE Pro or ViewONE feature - simply add the QuickStart parameter to your viewer install code

QuickStart is available for both ViewONE Pro and ViewONE Standard edition, and is available to all new customers, and within the update download for all those existing customers subscribed to our maintenance service.
