Welcome
to Daeja Views,
our online newsletter keeping you abreast with
what's happening here at Daeja Image Systems. Sent
every two months, Daeja Views will
include details of new products, modules, additional
features and updates, service announcements and
partner information.
And
there's really a lot happening at the moment. Since
March we've launched a whole new product (ViewONE
Pro), three new modules (PDF, DjVu and COLD), have
taken a booth at our first international trade show
(AIIM in New York), taken part in our first UK trade
show (IM Expo in London), updated ViewONE Standard
to Version 3, and launched our maintenance service
too.
But
we're not resting on our laurels - ViewONE .NET is
currently in pre-release testing, and we've got a
number of additional modules currently in development.
And
all of our licensing is still on a server basis,
so there's still no end user licensing for any of
our products, keeping your cost of ownership low,
and your ROI as short as possible.

Pro
ViewONE
Pro is the world's first zero-installation, Module-on-Demand™ multiple
format image viewer, specifically designed to facilitate
the 3Cs currently driving global
business processes: Collaboration, Consolidation
and Compliance.
The 'big
brother' to ViewONE Standard Edition, ViewONE Pro has
been split into the core applet and a suite of additional
modules, which also enables the intregration of a large
number of additional modules. ViewONE Pro has all the
benefits of ViewONE Standard plus a number of
powerful
new features
and modules to support scanned documents and other
file formats
including PDF and DjVu.
Thanks
to the new Advanced Cache Manager™ (ACM),

modules and functionality are automatically downloaded
on demand when first needed, without any user intervention
or installation necessary.

annotate PDF 6 documents, LizardTech's DjVu
files (see below) and COLD documents.

Module
Now
you can truly consolidate on a single image viewer
for all you shared documents thanks to ViewONE
Pro's PDF module.
Created
with technology licensed directly from Adobe, the
PDF module provides the ability to be able to view
PDF files (and their annotations) within your ViewONE
Pro application.
Thanks
to compatibility with our Annotations Module, you
can now also add annotations and other markups
onto PDF documents in the same way as with any
other ViewONE-supported file.
Combining
the PDF and Annotations Modules also means that
all your users can have ability to annotate PDF
files for no additional cost, instead of having
to individually license Adobe's Acrobat full edition
(approximately £250 per user), or their Reader
Server (approximately £20,000 per server).
Thanks
to viewONE Pro's Advanced Cache Manager, it also
means that the module is downloadable on demand,

high resolution images, DjVu, is increasing in

images from megabytes in size to just kilobytes

of these super-compressed files within ViewONE
Pro without the need for a separate viewer.

COLD
Module
If
your business handles vast quantities of forms,
you're likely to know or be using the COLD format,
which enables the splitting of the form template
from the completed fields, in order that storage
can be minimised by only storing the completed
fields in each file.
The
template is then recombined with the field data
when presented on screen. ViewONE Pro's
COLD module enables the recompilation of the
template and field data perfectly for viewing
within ViewONE Pro, removing the need for an
additional viewer.

ViewONE
.NET
In
response to requests from customers who are committed
to a Microsoft path and are rolling out .NET environments,
we have worked with Microsoft in late 2003 to develop
a .NET native version of ViewONE.
Offering
Module-on-Demand™ technology as a .NET managed
object, ViewONE is designed with the ease-of-use,
flexibility and scalability to cost-effectively
meet the requirements of any organization without
the need for end-user installation or training.
ViewONE
for .NET is downloadable on demand and in managed
environments requires no end user installation,
training or licensing. Unlike many .NET alternatives,
ViewONE has been authored in .NET native code for
robustness and reliability.
Currently
in pre-release testing (and presently only available
in ViewONE Standard Edition form - ViewONE Pro
.NET will follow in Q3), the first release of ViewONE
Standard .NET is scheduled for the end of July
2004, pending a final release of conversion tools
from Microsoft.
