ViewONE Pro Annotations Module

• Storage gains - annotations are stored outside of the document, not written into the file which means that the original is not altered, so there's no requirement for versioning and storage of multiple copies of the document
• Network gains - saving annotations needs only the annotation data to be returned to the server, not the document, significantly reducing network traffic and server load
• Add notes to all supported image files - now including PDF, and over 300 file formats including MS Office, through the range of optional modules

• Licensed by the server rather than the user: giving all your users the ability to annotate (for example) your PDF files adds just the single price of the Annotations Module to your existing ViewONE Pro + PDF Module implementation
• ViewONE Pro’s Annotations Module supports viewing of an extensive range of annotation formats: Wang, FileNet, Pixel Translations, Watermark and soon ViewStar annotations formats. Users can also view existing PDF annotations, and soon will be able to edit existing PDF annotations using ViewONE Pro
• Annotations are a ViewONE-specific ‘.ant’ file (essentially a text file) - making them searchable within your web-based Enterprise Content Management (ECM)/DM package and platform-agnostic
• Each annotation can be hyperlinked, with a wide range of options including (amongst others) links to other web pages, to completely different documents, other parts of a multipage document. For a full list of hyperlink options, see our Annotations Manual
• Integration of the annotations capability is, as with ViewONE Pro itself, achieved through simple HTML (supplied in the manuals) and is flexible enough to work seamlessly with virtually any web based system
