Standard Release 3.1.184/Pro Release 1.1.184 - 10 August 2010
New features/improvements:
  1. Streamer Module: Added a new parameter to the client applet "streamerURL" that simplifies defining the integration of the server-side Streamer Module. Please see streamer.pdf for details.

  2. Streamer Module: Allow the client html parameter "cookieAllowedDomainList" to include a wildcard character "*". Please see streamer.pdf for details.

  3. Added extra html parameters to make the Javascript method security more fine-grained. Please see js.pdf for more details.

  4. Added new Javascript methods, setImageToolbarCollapsed(boolean) and setViewToolbarCollapsed(boolean). Please see js.pdf for details.

  5. Added support in the Universal Viewing Module for AutoCad 2007.

  6. Added new html parameter "annotAutoDetectEmpty". When set to true and the text [EMPTY] is found in an annotation file and it is preceeded or followed by other annotations it is ignored. See annot.pdf for details.

Bug fixes:
  1. Resolved issue of the display of text annotations when multiple Carriage Returns are added to the text.

  2. Hebrew and Turkish text can now be searched in a PDF document.

  3. Resolved issue displaying umlaut characters in a text document.

  4. Resolved issue with the displaying of large 24-bit JPEGs when changing pages quickly which could result in a corrupt render.

  5. Resolved issue displaying GIFs which only have 2 colors.

  6. When adding text in a language that requires the text input dialog to be displayed automatically, the cursor is now positioned at the end of the text instead of the beginning.

  7. Resolved issue where the annotation security model set on the applet was not being passed to the new window.

  8. Resolved issue when displaying an uncompressed TIFF images where the FillOrder TIFF tag is set to 2.

  9. Resolved issue where annotations displayed on the thumbnails do not match the full page view after the Annotation Undo button has been pressed.

  10. Resolved issue where the Universal Viewing Module can get in an inconsistent state when clearing out the viewer repository folder resulting in it being unable to display documents until a restart.

  30. Streamer Module: Resolved issue where printing a streamed PDF without the Print Accelerator could cause the first page to be printed for every page.

  31. Resolved issue where "copy to clipboard" with large images can fail due to out of memory.

  32. Resolved issue on Mac OSX when using Firefox 3.6 where the Browser can hang on Viewer shutdown after displaying the Image Information Dialog.

  33. Resolved issue where the internal magnifier could flicker excessively when using Sun JRE.

  34. Resolved issue with the Universal Viewing Module where Powerpoint files do not show the correct number of pages.

New features/improvements:
  1. Add support for TIFF images that use CMYK colors

Bug fixes:
  1. Resolve issue with the display of bitmap images that have a negative value for the height

  2. Resolve issue with the display of thumbnails when opening a second document via Javascript.

  3. Resolved issue where valid characters in file names used in the defaultSaveFilename html parameter on Linux and Max OSX were being stripped out.

New features/improvements:
  1. Permanent Redaction: Added the ability to redact attachments to emails.

  2. Permanent Redaction: Highlights and highlight polygons can now be permanently redacted when the output is a color TIFF.

  3. Print labels can now be printed without print headers by setting the html parameter allowPrintHeader to false.

  4. Email Module: RTF formatted emails can now be displayed.

  5. Image properties now display the format of emails, for example "Plain Text", "HTML", etc...

  6. Improvement in the readability of the top line of text annotations when using Japanese text.

Bug fixes:
  1. Resolved issue so that when saving a TIFF image that has tags that the Viewer does not recognise, the tags are saved correctly.

  2. Permanent Redaction: Resolved issue so that when a TIFF image is redacted and that TIFF image has TIFF tags that the Permanent Redaction Module does not recognise, the tags are now stored in the redacted image.

  3. Resolved issue with viewing LZW TIFF images that have been encoded with strips that are not correctly terminated.

  4. Resolved issue printing annotations on rotated PDF documents where the printer is set to print in landscape mode.

  5. Zoom level is now consistent across documents and pages if it has been set.

  6. Annotation Streaming: Annotation now get displayed correctly when annotations on the wrong page are sent to the Viewer from the server-side component.

  7. Annotation Streaming: Annotation Save button now gets enabled correctly when annotations are modified on a New Window.

  8. Resolved issue with TIFF Images that have 2 color RGB palettes and the first color in the palette is white and the second is black.

  9. Annotations are now reflected correctly in page thumbnails when moving from one document to another.

  10. Streamer: Improved the readability of the logging messages.

  11. Pressing the Cancel button of the Print Dialog no longer leaves the Print button disabled.

  12. Javascript Event 35 now reflects the correct coordinates of the zoom when Enhance Modes Auto Sharp or Auto Sharper have been selected.

  13. Resolved issue with Javascript method openDoc when the user starts making multiple openDoc calls very quickly

  14. JPEG files with multiple JFIF APP0 markers now display correctly.

  15. Rotated TIFF images with different X and Y resolutions now display correctly when the html parameter allowAnnotationRotationOnTags is set to false.

  16. Permanent Redaction: When the tiffSaveColor property is not set, so the output is a mono image, the photometric interpretation TIFF tag that is output should be min-is-white.

  17. Saving 2 JPEG images to a single 2 page color TIFF now produces a valid TIFF.

  18. Changing the enhance mode no longer impacts on the zoom level.

  19. Resolved issue when setting the html parameter annotationTextLimit to a maximum value and then repeatedly trying to exceed that limit sometimes causes the Viewer to fail to respond.

  20. Creating new sticky note annotations after changing the enhance mode no longer changes the size of the sticky note created.

  21. Right-mouse click on the invert buttons now inverts all the pages in the thumbnail view, including the current page.

  22. Doc<n> parameter files are no longer loaded twice when the Viewer is first initialized.

  23. Background images now display correctly when the enhance mode is changed.

  24. Improve the display of the status so that when a document is not being displayed, Page 0 of 0 does not get displayed and when the pages are being counted the status informs the user that the number of pages is updating.

  25. Valid punctuation symbols are no longer removed from the defaultSaveFilename html parameter before it is displayed in the Save Dialog Box.

  26. DjVu Module now works correctly when the Viewer is hosted in a Linux Web Application Server.

  27. 8-Bit TIFF image with a grey-scale palette now displays correctly.

  28. Resolved issue with the display of multi-page TIFFs where the first page is rotated and the View Mode has been changed from 2-page to thumbs-left.

  29. The page count for PowerPoint documents now gets displayed correctly in the Universal Viewing Module.

  30. Right-clicking on an annotation when another annotation is active now activates the annotation clicked on.

  31. The Custom Annotation Stamps Menu now appears correctly in a New Window.

  32. Annotation Streaming: Save Annotations Dialog now appears correctly when the Viewer is closed and there are annotations that need saving.



Standard Release 3.1.176/Pro Release 1.1.176 - 10 March 2010
New features/improvements:
  1. The trial download pages have been updated with a new look and feel to more closely match the Daeja website.

  2. New HTML parameter (Pro only) "prefOverrideThumbsDisplayMode". This parameter specifies whether the defaultThumbsDisplayMode value is always used
    for the thumbnail display mode. See ViewONE_Pro.pdf manual for further details.

Bug fixes:
  1. Annotation save dialog now works correctly with Firefox 3.6.

  2. Improvements to the way shutdowns are handled mean that JRE 1.6.0_10+ is less likely to "restart" between browser refreshes. For further information on shutdown dialogs, please see: http://www.daeja.com/pdf/ShutdownDialogChanges.pdf

  3. Streamer: time reduction during the initial identification of some TIFFs

  4. Fixes for the Email Module when running under JRE 1.4.2: attachment icons no longer occasionally appear blank, thumbnail panel now always appears, certain emails that weren't parsed correctly now display.

  5. Copy to clipboard on some PDF pages now works correctly.

  6. Multi-page TIFF documents with a mixture of landscape/portrait orientations now display correctly.

  7. Fix for Streaming or Redacting certain PDFs with the IBM JRE 1.5.0.



Standard Release 3.1.172/Pro Release 1.1.172 - 18 December 2009
New features/improvements:
  1. Email Module: Added the ability to view attachments in a New Window.

  2. Streamer: Added additional streamer initialization properties that allow easier host remapping. Please see streamer.pdf for details.

  3. Added Javascript method "setDocumentCookies" so that the Viewer can be used in an AJAX environment as cookies are not refetched from the containing browser page.

  4. Streamer: Added the ability to stream PDFs that are encrypted using AES encryption.

  5. Improved the text in the save annotations dialog that appears when the Viewer is being shutdown. This involved making the text explaining what happens when the OK and Cancel buttons are pressed more meaningful.

  6. Permanent Redaction: Add the client side Javascript method setPDFToPDF(true/false). Please see permredact.pdf for more details.

  7. Added Javascript method "setAnnotationHideButtons" to replicate functionality of the html parameter "annotationHideButtons". Please see annot.pdf for details.

Bug fixes:
  1. Fixed the use of notfound.tif when a server-side component returns NOT_FOUND (404 HTTP response code) when requesting an image to view.

  2. Permanent Redaction: Resolved issue on the client where the burn cancelled message stayed on the screen for longer than necessary.

  3. Message to notify the user of an invalid license now includes the codebase for the applet.

  4. Permanent Redaction: Resolved issue on the client where the prompt "Some annotations cannot be burned because buring them is not supported..." sometime appears when it should not.

  5. Resolved issue where the horizontal scrollbar appears in the wrong place after zooming-in on a single page document.

  6. Resolved issue where a progressive JPEG can appear corrupted.

New features/improvements:
  1. New JavaScript methods for controlling document find actions, please see the JavaScript manual, js.pdf, for full details:

Bug fixes:
  1. Resolved issue where the URL to an image in an annotation image stamp cannot be found because the URL is lowercased.

  2. Added extra error reporting for ViewONE application files when using the ACM. This included the license file.

  3. Resolved issue with delay in displaying the toolbars when viewing a Word document with the Universal Viewing Module.



Standard Release 3.1.168/Pro Release 1.1.168 - 2 October 2009
New features/improvements:
  1. Added parameter "annotationToolbarCollapsed" which when set to true will start the annotation toolbar in a collapsed/folded state when the Viewer initially starts up. See annot.pdf for details.

  2. Added parameter "alwaysShowPDFAnnotations" which when set to true will prevent annotations embedded in a PDF file from being hidden when the "Hide annotations" button is pressed. Please see viewone_pro.pdf for details.

  3. Added parameter "annDeleteToolbarButton" which when set to true displays an extra button on the annotation toolbar that allows all annotations on either the current page or the current document to be deleted. Also added are 2 other parameters "annDeleteAllPageConfirm" and "annDeleteAllDocConfirm". Please see annot.pdf for details.

  4. Added functionality to create stamps from the redaction toolbar icon to allow pre-defined "redaction" stamps to be specified. See annot.pdf for details of the HTML parameters redactAnnotationStamp<N> and redactAnnotStampProperties<N>

  5. PDF to PDF burning now supported on Linux x86 (Kernel 2.6, glibc 6) and Sun Solaris (8) SPARC servers. Note: this does not include PDF to TIFF burning.

Bug fixes:
  1. Resolved issue where the "annotationEncoding" html parameter was not being honoured when using the "annotationSavePost" HTML parameter

  2. Resolved issue where the "cachePath" parameter was a relative path and the additional ViewONE Modules (for example Print Accelerator Module, PDF Module and Universal Viewing Module) were not being loaded correctly.

  3. Streamer: Resolved issue where an extra HTTP request was being made to the document repository (to determine user authentication) when a document was first retrieved from the source repository.

  4. Improvement to support within the Email Module. These included support for Outlook XP emails that are in an RTF format that are wrapped within HTML. Support for international characters in the email header.

  5. Resolved issue where when saving a PDF file locally as a TIFF, annotations were being saved into the TIFF.

  6. Resolved issue with QuickStart URL generation.



Standard Release 3.1.166/Pro Release 1.1.166 - 14 September 2009
New features/improvements:
  1. New separately licensable Email Module. This new module supports Outlook message files (*.msg files) and the W3C RFC822 Arpa Internet Text Messages (*.eml files). This module compliments our existing support within the Universal Viewing Modules. Please see viewone_pro.pdf for details. Please note that in this release, long emails may be truncated during printing when using the "Print original size" preference. By default they are printed to fit onto a single page. This will be resolved in a future update.

  2. Added new html parameter "routeHTMLTarget" that is used with the parameter "routeHTML" to determine the Browser Window that displays the HTML. Please see html.pdf for details.

Bug fixes:
  1. Resolved issue where using Javascript addAnnotation method on Viewer startup could take 30 seconds to show the annotation.

  2. Resolved issue with the new annotation save dialog not appearing on shutdown specifically on Windows with the Safari 4 Browser and Sun JRE 1.5.

  3. Improved the error reporting when retrieving the license file from the server.

  4. Improved support for printing from multiple instances on the Viewer.

  5. Remove the second request for the license file from the server.

  6. Improved the performance of printing.

  7. The client viewer now needs to be licensed for streaming before it can receive streamed images (TIFFs and PDFs).

  1. Permanent Redaction: Resolved failure when attempting to redact some PDF files.

  2. Permanent Redaction and Streamer: Resolved issue with running the server modules on the Oracle WebLogic Application Servers.

  3. Resolved issue with using the customResource<X> HTML parameters.

  4. Resolved issue when using the JavaScript initialisePageArray and openPageArray when used within a custom event handler.

  5. The downloading of custom resources and custom buttons now uses the JRE Plugin Cache.

New features/improvements:
  1. New JavaScript event number 57 (PRINT_START) added for tracking print operations.

  2. Images and documents displayed within the Viewer are no longer cached in the JRE Plugin cache. The Viewer manages the caching.

  3. PDF Viewing Module now supported on Mac OSX 10.4 and 10.5.

  4. Implemented text searching of PDF Documents

  5. Streamer - Add the ability to cause a whole document to be pre-cached. Please see the "Pre-Caching Documents" section in the streamer.pdf manual for details.

  6. Add the ability to support TIFF images that are defined as having 16 Bits Per Component.

  7. Added the ability to better control the layout of text files in the Viewer using the parameters "textFilterWrapping", "textFilterPageBreaks", "textFilterPageHeight" and textFilterPageWidth". Please see html.pdf for details.

  8. New shutdown dialog behavior which improves the reliability of displaying dialogs when the browser is shutting down across a variety of browsers/platforms and JREs. Please see the following document for further information: http://www.daeja.com/pdf/ShutdownDialogChanges.pdf

Bug fixes:
  1. The display of bilevel TIFF images with a 2 colour grayscale palette has been improved with anti-aliasing.

  2. When specifically in the Turkish locale, the hyperlink button no longer appears on the annotation toolbar when it has been hidden with the "hideAnnotationButtons" HTML parameter.

  3. Improved the detection of PDFs that do not strictly follow Adobe's specification but can still be rendered.

  4. The progress bar that indicates document download progress is now accurate when the document being downloaded is larger than ~21MB.

  5. Text date stamp annotations now honour the locale of the current machine.

  6. Scrolling the thumbnail view with the mouse wheel is much faster.

  7. Pressing F10 (Fit to Window Height) no longer causes the viewer to lose focus.

  8. Resolved an issue that could result in text annotations being hidden or truncated from a print visible operation when zoomed in.

  9. Some TIFF images with an incorrectly specified BitsPerSample can now be viewed.

  10. The properties dialog for a sticky note annotation now shows the modified and created dates in the user's locale.

  11. Streamer Server Module - properties in the streamer.properties file are now case-insensitive.

  12. On Mac OS X, resolved issue with the Image Information Dialog only possible to be displayed once.

  13. On Mac OS X, the background color is now more consistent.

  14. Resolved issue with PDF Viewing where the Viewer would intermittently cause the Browser to shutdown.

  15. Improvements to viewer cache management which now tracks document meta-data (such as MIME types) across browser page refreshes.

  16. Resolved issue with the separator pages not being printed correctly when the same URL is used for different separators.

  17. Resolved memory issue with copying very large images to the clipboard.

  18. Streamer Server Module - Resolved issue when the Application Server that the streamer is deployed in does not support HTTP HEAD requests.

  19. Resolved issue with displaying JPEGs where there is repeated image data in the file.

  20. Resolved issue with annotations failing to load when using 2 applets and the Javascript method setAnnotationFile.

  21. Streamer and Permanent Redaction Server - Reduced the memory footprint when the server is initiated.

  22. Improved the performance of displaying PDF documents.

  23. Resolved issue when using the page<x> parameters and using very long urls for the pages that are very similar and the wrong page being displayed.

  24. Resolved issue with setting the "EmptyOnClose" to false and when the document is closed it still gets cleared from the Viewer cache and so has to be redownloaded when it is reloaded.

  25. Resolved issue where opening and closing a New Window without modifying annotations would show an annotation error dialog when attempting to save annotations.
